Comparison of Artificial Breeding of Marine Fish between Indoor Tanks and Outdoor Ponds

Artificial breeding of red drum Sciaenops ocellatus and Plectrhinchus picus was conducted in indoor tanks,outdoor high sea-level ponds and indoor tanks with outdoor high sea-level ponds to optimize the marine fish breeding technology.The results indicated that the survival rate of the fry reared indoors was 11%~98.8%, and the maximum in outdoors was 6%, while those in indoors with outdoors was 37.5%~73%.It is recommended that the larvae be reared to 10 mm in body length, and then be cultivated in outdoor high sea-level ponds because of high survival rate and low production cost.
