Effects of Virus on the Activities of Catalase and Peroxidase in Haemolymph of Chlamys farrei

Catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD) in the haemocytes and serum of Chlamys farrei were assayed at 6, 24 and 72 h after injection of the non-occluded spherical viruses isolated from the infectious tissues of the scallop collected in the period of massive death in Jiaozhou Bay. The results showed that the CAT activities in serum and haemocyte at 6 h (p0.01), 24 h (p0.05) and 72 h (p05) after injection were significantly higher than those in the controled groups. The POD activities in serum and haemocytes at 6 h and 24 h after injection were significantly higher (p0.01)than those in the controled groups.
