Research Progress in effect of S-adenosylmethionine on physiological metabolism in tea plant

WU Ying,LIANG Yuerong(Tea Research Institute of Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310029)  
S-adenosylmethionine(SAM)is an important methyl donor in biochemical reaction. It has three metabolic pathways: transmethylation,trans-sulfuration,polyamine synthesis.SAM and SAM synthase gene are involved in caffeine's biosynthesis in tea plant,and protect tea plant from the evironmenta stress.
