Abecedarian study on the antioxidatnt activity of pu-er tea

JIE Guoliang, HE Puming, DING Renfeng (Tea Research Institute of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310029)  
The pu-er tea extract treated with hot w at er was re-extracted with different organic regents step by step, got four kind of fractions, such as chloroform fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, n-butano l fraction and the other fraction. To compare the antioxidative activity of thes e fractions, the antioxidative effect was assayed in a Fenton-type reaction sys tem by chemiluminescence, and in the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) rad ical scavenging effect by spectrophotometer. The result showed that the strong s cavenging effect of the ethyl acetate fraction and the n-butanol fraction o n the DPPH radical and the hydroxyl radicals was observed.
