In this paper, the effect of DO concentration and MLSS on simultaneous nitrification and denitrification was studied. Results showed that, to some extent, total nitrogen removal efficiency had a tendency to rise with the decrease of DO concentration in the reactor. The lower the DO concentration, the higher the efficiency of aerobic denitrification. Total nitrogen concentration in the effluent decreased with the increase of MLSS, leading to a more apparent denitrification efficiency.
