Research on Characteristics of Acid Rain and Its Effects on Plants in Guangzhou Area

JIN Lahua(Department of Environmental Engineering, Jinan University, Guangzhou 510632,China)  
Based upon the detected data of acid rain in Guangzhou area, the time variation regulations and spatial distribution characteristics of acid rain in Guangzhou area have been analyzed, and the main causes and influencing factors of acid rain in Guangzhou area have also been discussed. The impacts of the acid rain on plants in Guangzhou area have been evaluated according to the investigation. The results show that the acid rain has heavily affected the bio-environment of plants in Guangzhou area, and effective measures should be adopted to control the pollution of acid rain. Some available measurements and suggestions have been pointed out to control the acid rain pollution.
