Relationship Between Suspended Matter Concentration and Spectral Reflectance of Chao Lake

The correlations between reflectance spectra and the contents of suspended matter in Chao Lake which was in eutrophic status were studied.Reflectance spectra were measured using ASD FieldSpec HandHeld radiometer.Suspended matter and chlorophyll measurements of water samples were measured at the same time.The features of the spectral reflectance of the lake showed that,in infra-red wavelength range,the correlation between the spectral reflectance and the suspended matter content and the correlation between the first derivative of the reflectance and the suspended matter content were good.The first derivative was effective in estimating suspended matter content in inland water.
