An Application of Surfactants in Biotechnology;Reversed Micellar Extraction

SHEN Zhong-yao (Institute of Biochemical Engineering,Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University,Beijing 100084,China)  
The reversed micellar cxtraction is a novel separation technology having developing prospect for separating proteins,in which the reversed micelles are formed in organic solvent by the surfactants for extraction proteins efficiently.It is one of successful application of surfactants in biotechnology.This article will be a brief description for introducing the principle of the reversed micellar extraction process and some applications.
