Spectrophotographic determination of glucose in α-methyl glucoside

Based on the reaction of glucose with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid in sodium hydroxide solution forming a red complex,a method for determination of glucose was studied.The maximum absorbance is at 490 nm and its apparent molar absorptivity is 267×105 L·mol-1·cm-1.The rectilinear range is 133 μg/mL~800 μg/mL for glucose with the lower detection limit of 33 μg/mL and RSD of 113 %.The method has been used for the determination of glucose in α-methyl glucoside.
