Determination of mercury content in freckle cream by atomic fluorescence spectrometry

Sample of freckle cream product was treated by hydrochloric acid and its mercury content was determined by reduction-gasification-atomic fluorescence spectrometry way.Effects of different treatment ways as well as different operating conditions of the atomic fluorescence spectrometer on the determination results were studied.Experiment results show that the effect of different sample treatment ways is not significant.This method has advantages of quick,high sensitive and easy operation.Recovery with addition of standard known mercury containing ingredient achieves more than 96 % and relative standard deviation achieves 2.5 %.
