Study of performance of morpholinium bromide gemini surfactants

By determination of properties of cationic gemini surfactant α,ω-alkane bis-(alkyl morpholinium bromide),effect of the structure of the hydrophobic group and the spacer group carbon chain of the surfactant on surface activity,wetting power,foaming properties and emulsifying performance of the product were studied.Meanwhile,the relationship between the structure and the performance of the surfactant product were examined.Results showed that the surface activity,foaming properties and emulsifying performance of the gemini surfactant are better than that of the corresponding non-gemini surfactant;but the wetting power of the former is lower than that of the latter.In such kind of gemini surfactant series,in case of same hydrophobic group,the shortening of the spacer group carbon chain will result-in better performance;while in case of same spacer group,the shortening of the hydrophobic group carbon chain will result-in decline of the performance.
