Research on the Displacement of SPOT Images

Some background information about SPOT images is briefly presented at first, displacement of SPOT images with vertical and tilt viewing angle arised from topographic relief is investigated in detail, corresponding formulae are deduced, and the displacement value of SPOT images in 1∶50000 scale resulted from relief is listed. The usually used rectification methods, polynomial rectification and digital differential rectification, are introduced in the general, a new correction method without DEM is proposed, which can be used to rectify the SPOT images with large viewing angle or in large relief region, an experiment is used to support the new correction method.
