The Determination of Strain Accumulation Rates Using GPS Data

DANG Ya min, CHAO Ding bo, XU Cat jun,ZHAO Shao rong( Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, Beijing 100039, China; Wuhan University,Wuhan 430079,China)  
The formulae of the determination of strain accumulation rates using GPS data were derived based on the elastic theory. 41 sites of GPS filed campaign data were employed for determination of maximum principal strain rate,azimuth of direction of maximum principal strain rate, rate of dilatation, the highest shear rate (or total shear) and the rotation in the north China region. The solution acquired using these GPS data are quite consistent with the geological featureover this region.
