Research on DEM surface deformation detection without control points

This paper proposes a new DEM deformation detection method without control points that can bring DEMs obtained in different epochs into common coordinate system.Therefore,the surface deformation can be detected with fixed-quantity according to the matched DEMs.The new method takes both the magnitude and the relationship of observations into account by introducing the differential model.Comparing with the LMS-LZD method that reaches highest detection percentage so far,the new method has higher ability of deformation detection and matching accuracy.The experimental results based on real data sets,the multi-temporal DEMs of PUWAIGOU,validate the advantage of the new method.
