3D reconstruction of old architecture by laser scanner and digital camera

This paper provides a scheme to construct old architecture using laser scanner and digital camera.In our approach,laser point clouds are scanned from different scan positions and a sequence of overlapping images are taken by digital camera.The point clouds coming from neighbor scan station are automatic registered to combine a uniform model.Line feature are extracted from both image and depth intensity map which build from point cloud,and the pictures external orientation parameters are determined by the coplanar condition.The framework of the building and the texture are created from the aligned data sets.At last,an experiment provides the result of construction of old library of Wuhan University.
