Direction relation description and its qualitative reasoning in 3-dimensional GIS

LIU Xin,LIU Wen-bao(College of Geo-Information Science and Engineering, Shandong University of Science and Technology Qingdao 266510)  
The direction relation describes relative position between objects in GIS. The direction relation description and its reasoning are mainly studied in 2-dimension space, and they are relatively mature. The direction relation description model based on the projection theory is built in 3-dimension space in this paper firstly. Then the qualitative direction relation reasoning between single direction relation and single direction relation, single and multi, multi and multi are studied in 3-dimension space as well. Finally, some laws in the qualitative direction relation reasoning between single direction relations are studied.
