Analysis of GPS time series of height component based on IGS continuous observation stations

Firstly, a multi-resolution wavelet analysis for global distributed GPS height time series is performed in this paper. After analyzing, it is found that most stations have a seasonal variation. Both annual and semiannual periods variations are the result of a lot of geophysical phenomenon. Then, the authors analyze and study the reasons from several factors, especially from atmospheric pressure. Finally, they discuss the crustal vertical deformation with the results of analysis. The conclusion is that both annual and semi-annual vibrations of integrated expanding and contracting movement in the Earth are detected. Meantime, the movement follows different laws in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
