Research on atmospheric vertical refraction index in the Height determination of Qomolangma Feng

Atmospheric vertical refraction is one of the important factors that affect the height determination of Qomolangma Feng. Making use of the data of 2005 elevation of Qomolangma Feng, the paper implements the detailed analysis and research of calculation principle, method and change characteristic and trend of atmosphere temperature vertical gradient and atmospheric vertical refraction. Combining with the results of 1975 and 1999 measurement, it also performs a comprehensive analysis and concludes that they all exist the period variety of the day and their variety trend is given, which improves the computing accuracy of Qomolangma Feng elevation.
