Fusion study of SPOT5 image for urban vegetation mapping

The effect is not consistent when different fusion methods are used for different application. In this paper, SPOT5 images is fused using four fusion methods, including PCA, HIS, PCA based on wavelet transformation, and HIS based on wavelet transformation. The conclusion is that the image fused using PCA based on wavelet transformation have better spectral quality, but the spatial construction is not well. Because the location characteristic of urban vegetation is fragmental, so this method is not suitable for information obtaining. The image fused using PCA has better spatial construction and spectral quality, the texture of trivial objectives is clear, so this method is most suitable for vegetation mapping among these four methods.
