Exploration on 1∶1000000 digital geomorphologic mapping in China

Digital geomorphology is based on traditional methods of geomorphologic mapping and geographic information systems (GIS). Firstly, with an example of digital geomorphologic map, G-48, Kunming, this article formulates the technical routes and methods of 1:1000000 digital geomorphologic map in China based on RS and GIS. Then some issues in the geomorphologic mapping are discussed. It is shown that the geomorphologic mapping based on RS and GIS will improve the efficiency, quality and precision.
