Resolution of digital maps

The meanings of resolution and scale are similar, but scale is usually comprehended as multiple of scale down,and resolution as behaving power of detail or precision. Being different with papery maps, the digital maps actually have not meaning of scale, so it is inclined to characterize digital maps by resolution instead of scale. The resolution of digital maps mainly account for detailed degree, careful degree, accurate degree and expression way of geographical information in maps. The spatial resolution of digital maps can be represented with precision of scale.
