Qualitative direction relation reasoning laws in 3D-GIS

The direction relation is used to describe the relative orientation position between objects in GIS. The qualitative direction relation reasoning is an important issue in the study of direction relation. Laws of qualitative direction relation reasoning between direction relations are important to study the qualitative direction relations reasoning. X-Y direction relation decided by X-Y coordinate and Z direction relation decided by Z coordinate were put forward with the projection method when a tetrahedron is known as the referenced entity. Laws in X-Y direction relation reasoning and Z direction relation reasoning are respectively studied in the paper in detailed. The definition method and algebra method are used to study laws in X-Y direction relation reasoning and laws in Z direction relation reasoning. Laws in qualitative direction relations reasoning in 3D space can be get through composition of laws in X-Y direction relation reasoning and laws in Z direction relation reasoning.
