A filtering of LIDAR based on region growing

Filtering and classification of airborne LIDAR are the key factors to obtain high-precision DEM.According to the definition of bare-earth made by Sithole,the paper proposes the "region growing" filter.Compared with the eight classical filtering algorithms,the results of filtering in different areas are given.The results show that the proposed filtering method can effectively extract ground points from point cloud with high stability.
