Calculation and analysis of fractal dimension to linear geologic objects——taking "Xi'an Typically Ground Fissures"、"Weihe River Xi'an Segment " and "Chang'an-Lintong Fault Xian Segment " for examples

LI Bin①,TONG Ji-yong②,XIAO Xue-nian③,ZHANG Jin-hui①,XU Yong-long①,WANG Wen-min①,YAN Fang-fang①,YANG Chao①,CHEN Xiao-fei①(①College of Geological Engineering and Geomatics,Chang'an University,Xi'an 710054,China;②Surveying and Mapping Engineering Institute of Gansu Province,Lanzhou 730000,China;③National Institute of Surveying and Mapping Standardization,Xi'an 710054,China)
Applying practical calculation model of fractal dimension, through fractal dimension calculation and characteristic analysis to the linear geological objects "Xi'an typically ground fissures","Weihe River Xi'an Segment" and "Chang'an-Lintong fault Xian Segment",we have derived the general characteristics and rules of fractal dimension from the above-mentioned linear geological objects, which provided a quantitative reference indicator to describe their spatial distribution and geometrical features,as well as the spatial clues to depth explore the ground fissures formation mechanism.
