Automatic detection of permanent scatterers in PSInSAR

In order to effectively detect permanent scatterers in differential Interferometry of Synthetic Aperture Radar,a ri-threshold automatic method was proposed in the paper taking into account the characteristics of strong reflection and stable backscattering of permanent scatterers to radar waves.It serially set tri-threshold corresponding to time-series correlation-coefficient,amplitude dispersion index and amplitude index.In this method,considering the characteristic of high signal-noise-ratio,the average correlation coefficients and amplitude were firstly used to choose the initial candidates of permanent scatterers.And then further considering the strong stability of permanent scatterers,the amplitude dispersion threshold was utilized to produce the final permanent scatterers from the candidates.Finally,the proposed method was proved to be effective and reliable by an experiment with 24 ERS1 /2 C-band synthetic aperture radar images in a region of Shanghai.
