FIBROUS CATALYST FOR THE REMOVAL OF OXYGEN IN HYDROGEN AND INERT GASES

Under controlled oxidation, specific surface area of carbon fiber could be greatly increased and functional groups were formed on the surface showing specific adsorption for noble metal ions. Its physical characteristics benefit the fast surface reactions. A catalyst made therefrom for the removal of oxygen in hydrogen and inert gases gave a much higher efficiency than conventional granular catalysts by one to two orders of magnitude.
