KINETICS OF THE HYDROLYSIS OF CARBONYL SULFIDE OVER γ-Al_2O_3 CATALYST AT LOWER TEMPERATURE

Zhang Qin-lin and Guo Han-xian (Research Institute of Coal Chemical Engineering, Taiyuan University of Technology)  
Kinetic study of the hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide over γ-Al2O3 catalyst was performed under atmospheric pressure and in lower temperature range (80-120℃). Nonlinear Marquart method was first used to analyze the experimental data of this system. The influence of different objective functions on estimated kinetic parameters was studied. Zero order and first order behavior were observed for H2O and COS respectively. The selection and recognition of several mechanism models reveal that Eley-Rideal mechanism can perfectly fit with this reaction system. The established kinetic model is as follows:
