SYNTHESES AND CATALYTIC PROPERTIES OF AI-B-CROSS-LINKED BENTONITES

Al-B-Cross-Linked Bentonite (Al-B-CLB) was prepared from bento-nite of the Hunyuan Prefecture of Shanxi Province. Effect of Al/B (molar ratio) on of(001) and the cracking activity for light diesel oil of the cross-linked products were studied. The specific surface area and IR spectrum of adsorbed pyridine were determined respectively with metha-nol adsorption and PE-577 IR spectrometer. The results show that Al-B-CLB has a higher thermal stability. Compared with Al-cross-linked bentonite, the cracking activity of Al-B-CLB is higher under the same conditions. After calcination at 400℃ for 3 h, the microactivity of Al-B-CLB comes to a climax(85), and reaches 70 even on calcination at 550℃ for 3 h. When cracking reaction carried out at 580℃, its microactivity is 85.3. Lewis type acid predominates as Al-B-CLB treated at 400℃, the total amount of acid is 0.252 mmol/g.
