STUDY OF VISIBLE SPECTRAL SENSITIZATION OF NANOCRYSTALLINE TiO 2 PHOTOCATALYST

The study of visible spectral sensitization of nanocrystalline TiO 2, doped with metal ions in cosolvent, was reported. The experimental results indicated that the vanadium doped TiO 2 photocatalyst exhibited high photocatalytic activity of 96 9% for decomposition of H 2S with initial concentration of 50 μl/L under visible light illumination. The XPS determined the existence of vanadium as an impurity in TiO 2 lattice and the investigation of powder conductivity revealed that two types of conductive mechanism existed in the metal doped TiO 2.
