INVESTIGATION ON PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF DYE WASTEWATER WITH TITANIA PRODUCED IN CHINA

Photocatalytic degradation of dye pollutants with titania produced in China was studied. The results of XRD and SEM analyses show that the titania with smaller particle size and higher anatase content has higher activity for the degradation. The decomposition order of the dyes from difficulty to easiness is phthalocyaninesanthraquinonesmonoazo dyes, and the degradation rate of the dyes is directly related to their adsorption. The experiments on the stir suspension system and the paste system show that the no biodegradable Direct Light Proof Scarlet 4BS industrial wastewater with high concentration can be photocatalytically degraded and mineralized. The titania produced in China can be used recyclically and the solar light can be used.
