Study of Photoelectrocatalytic Degradation of Sulfosalicylic Acid

A three electrode system composed of TiO 2/Ni as the working electrode, porous nickel as the counter electrode and saturated calomel electrode (SCE) as the reference electrode was used for the photoelectrocatalytic degradation of sulfosalicylic acid (SSal) under anodic bias potential. The results show that SSal can be degraded effectively as the external potential is up to 700 mV and that the degradation rate is dependent on the solution pH value. And the current of the external circuit changes during the course of photoelectrocatalytic degradation.
