Preparation and Properties of WO_3-TiO_2 Composite Film Photocatalyst

WO 3 TiO 2 composite film photocatalyst was prepared on porous titanium plate by sol gel method. The photocatalytic activity of the catalyst was investigated for photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange. It was found that the photocatalytic activity of WO 3 TiO 2 film photocatalyst with x (WO 3)=0.5% and 3 coating layers, calcined at 500 ℃ for 1 h, is higher than that of pure TiO 2 film. Under the experimental conditions, TiO 2 on porous titanium plate is composed of anatase phase and rutile phase, indicating that the appropriate tungsten doping can effectively decrease the temperature of phase transform from anatase to rutile.
