Study on Reaction Kinetics of COS Hydrolysis at Lower Temperature

A microreactor-GC apparatus was used for studying the reaction kinetics of COS hydrolysis over TGH catalyst. The COS hydrolysis in lower temperature range (50～70 ℃) and higher H 2O/COS molar ratio range (60～550) was investigated. By fitting different objective functions with nonlinear Marquart computer program to the data obtained under the experimental conditions, the optimal reaction rate expression for COS hydrolysis was gained as follows r(COS)=-dXd(W/f(COS))=1.82·10 14 p(COS) p -0.5(H 2O)exp- 75?8008.374T. The model was tested by mathematical statistic method and residual distribution. The results showed that the kinetic model can reasonably describe the characteristics of COS hydrolysis over TGH catalyst. The reaction mechanism was also discussed. The reaction rate of COS hydrolysis was significantly inhibited by the higher H 2O/COS molar ratio.
