Effects of Thermal Treatment in Solvents on Properties of Magnetic Spheroidal γ-Al_2O_3 Catalyst Carrier

The effects of thermal treatment in different solvents on the properties of ma gn etic spheroidal alumina catalyst carrier prepared by internal gelation process w ere investigated. After the precursors of alumina were treated in different solv ents, the changes of crystal type, specific surface area, pore volume, magnetic property of the alumina were studied. With the increase of the treatment tempera ture and the treatment time, the specific surface area and pore volume increased respectively and the pore distribution altered largely. The physical and chemic al properties of the magnetic alumina carrier satisfied the need of the catalyt ic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene and n-hexene.
