CATALYTIC BEHAVIOUR OF Fe-Cu-Mn OXIDE/SEPIOLITE FOR HYDROXYLATION OF BENZENE TO PHENOL

he method of preparing catalyst Fe-Cu-Mn oxide/sepiolite and thecatalytic behaviour of the catalyst for hydroxylation of benzene to phenolwere investigated. Effects of catalyst component, preparation method of catalyst, PH value of precipitate liquid, property of promoter, and reactiontemperature on the process results were discussed. The results showed thatusing Fe2O3-Cuo-MnO2/sepiolite as catalyst and H2O2 as oxidant, in theconditions of pH value 10. 5-11.0 of precipitant and reaction temperature280-320℃, the benzene conversion reached 36. 26 % and selectivity for phenol was 93. 45%. The reaction mechanism was explored preliminarily.
