CATALYTIC DECOMPOSITION OF NITRIC OXIDE OVER Cu 2+ EXCHANGED ZEOLITES

The catalytic activity of three different types of Cu 2+ exchanged zeolites (Cu ZSM 5, Cu Y, Cu M) for the NO direct decomposition, especially the effects of the preparation and reaction conditions on the catalytic activity have been studied. The results show that the catalyst Cu ZSM 5 (Ⅳ) bears high catalytic activity, good stability and strong ability of oxygen resistance in the reaction systems of NO He and NO O 2 He, while the Cu Y and Cu M zeolites lose their activity after reaction for 2 h under the same reaction conditions. It is also found that the activity of the catalyst Ⅳ decreases quickly when the space speed increases and the O 2 concentration in feed gas is over 10%. The further way of this research is suggested.
