PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ULTRAFINE ZrO 2 CATALYST FOR CO HYDROGENATION

Ultrafine ZrO 2 particles have been prepared by the hydrolysis of ZrOCl 2·8H 2O in organic solvents. The samples identified by DTA TG, XRD and TEM showed good dispersity and average particle size of 25nm. By this method, water in the Zr(OH) 4 sol was replaced by organic solvents, so that no hard agglomerates were formed. The reaction of CO hydrogenation was carried out over ultrafine and bulk catalysts and the results showed that the dispersity has great effect on the selectivity for CO hydrogenation.
