DIGITAL REALIZATION OF THE THEORY OF REPRE-SENTING THE EARTH'S GRAVITY FIELD BYFICTITIOUS SINGLE-LAYER DENSITY

: This paper is an extension of the previous one "Representation of Gravity Field Outside the Earth Using Pictitious Single-Layer Density", it gives a computation scheme and a numerical analysis of the theory of this representation in order to go further into the feasibility and practical value of this theory. The key point in carrying out this sc- heme consists in solving the basic integral equation (6). This paper suggests a form of numerical solution by dividing the integration region. This form is advisable, not only does it proyide the value u* of the fictitious single-layer density, but it also facilitates the estimation of the influence of distant zones. Practice indicates that the representation method based on the theory given in [2] has advantages of speeding up the converge- nce in iteration, saving computing time, using smaller coverage of observation data and providing higher computing accuracy. Therefore, it can be recommended for practical use.
