ON GRAVITY FIELD DETERMINATION IN THECOLLISION AREA BETWEEN BOUNDARIESOF THE TECTONIC PLATES

J.Y.Chen, Y.N. Lin, J. Zhang, J.J. Zhang(Notional Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, Beijing, 100830)
:In the continental collision areas between boundaries of the tectonic plates,in general, topography is rough, mass distribution above and under the geoid isimisostastic, crust and structure movement are strong. Naturally the variationand structure of the local gravity field (gravity anomalies, deflections of thevertical and geoid) in these areas are very complicate. Hence some special tech-niques are necessary for the gravity reduction and prediction in the areas. The techniques and experiences for the gravity field determination in Mt.Everst area, located in the collision area between boundaries of the Eurasianand lndian plates, are taken as a study case to be discussed in the paper.
