Using Satellite Altimetry Technique for Monitoring the Sea Level Change

The harmonic constants of eleven constituents over East China Sea are calculated using T/P satellite altimeter data during 1993 1999, and the accuracy of estimated amplitudes is better than ±4 cm. Using the same data set, the process of 1997 El Nino in Equatorial Pacific is examined with the precision of better than ±7 cm. Moreover, the sea level changes are analyzed by using T/P data, which comes to the conclusions that: There is a rising trend in global sea level at the first and forth seasons, and a falling trend in the second and third seasons, however the trend of China sea level change is contrary to that of global one.
