The Implementation of High-bandwidth Network Based Real-time Interactive Browsing for 3D Massive Terrain Data

Aimed at the transfers and rendering of 3D massive terrain data on high-bandwidth network, the paper presents one method of massive terrain data processing and storage, which includes the preprocessing and the storage structure of terrain data for accessing conveniently on the high-bandwidth network. From human being′s vision physiology, one rendering template of multi-resolution terrain is introduced to deal with the conflict between the real-time interactive realistic browsing of the terrain data and requiring of massive terrain data for realistic rendering. Furthermore, one type of protocol real-timely transferring massive terrain data on network is introduced for plenty using but not wasting the bandwidth resource of network. At last, many terrain examples are demonstrated on NSFCNet, and shown that the project in this paper is feasible and the high-bandwidth network is needful for the real-time interactive browsing of massive terrain data.
