A Novel Method for Reducing Noises in GPS Deformation Monitoring System

The observed data of GPS deformation monitoring system can be described as a kind of data series relating to time. Based on the basic theory of wavelet analysis in this paper, a method of error reduction for the observed data of time series is presented. Practical results show that, by using wavelet decomposition and reconstruction, this method can efficiently extract weak deformation characteristics from the observed data series having strong noises. Moreover, comparing with classic processing techniques, it has excellent features for non-stationary and unequally spatial series data filtering in deformation monitoring.
