Geometric Rectification of SAR Images

The difficulties in geometric rectification of SAR images have hampered their applicability. Currently used rectification algorithms are not satisfying. The Range-Doppler equations which describing the SAR image geometry and related space coordinate system are presented, as well as satellite orbit and orbit parameter. An orbit modeling formula is proposed, through which one can interpolate the satellite state vector on the whole orbit arc with a high precision by means of ephemeris data. Then a rectification algorithm of SAR images is given. The algorithm calculates the corresponding pixel position of every three-dimension DEM point through iteratively solving the Range-Doppler equations. Finally, a test on the proposed algorithm is given.
