Research on Urban Spatial Thermal Environment Using Remote Sensing Image——Fractal Measurement of Thermal Field Structure & Its Change

It is a difficulty to quantitatively analyze the structure of urban thermal environment and its change feature.Fractal geometry was introduced to use in thermal environment remote sensing field.Three fractal dimension measurement methods,gray scale surface fractal method,course fractal method and pixel fractal method,were programmed accounting of the feature of thermal environment structure in this paper. The gray scale surface fractal method can open out characteristics of the whole thermal field,the course fractal method can contrast the change of the thermal radiation structure of typical area and the pixel fractal method can give a quantitative description of variety grade of thermal radiation.The structure of urban thermal environment was measured using the fractal methods and its change was analyzed in Shanghai in 1990,1995 and 1998.
