Geocenter Variations Derived from the Data of SLR to Lageos2

Two methods, robust estimation and variance component estimation, are applied in this paper to research the geocenter motion. With the direct and dynamic methods we get two time series of the geocenter motion with respect to ITRF2000 based on the analysis of the data set of Lageos2 from January 1996 to December 2000. The paper gives the mean offsets and the rate of the geocenter motion. It also gives the amplitudes and phases of the main terms of the geocenter motion. Finally we compare our results with other results in the literatures. By comparison and analysis, we find that there are annual and semiannual components in the geocenter motions, but, there is no significant longterm movement in the geocenter motions.
