Investigations of the Possibility and Method of Determining Global Centimeter-level Geoid

The challenges for determining the global geoid with the accuracy of centimeter-level are clarified.Various definitions of the geoid are commented.A new approach for determining the global 1°×1°geoid with the accuracy of centimeter-level are further suggested: if it is given a geopotential model with corresponding centimeter-level accuracy,given the Earth shallow layer mass density distribution as well as the mean sea height model with the corresponding accuracy,then,based on the fictitious compress recovery approach,the aim of realizing the global 1°×1°geoid with the accuracy of centimeter-level is possible.The possibilities and conditions for realizing the aim are preliminarily demonstrated,and the results of a simulative test are also introduced in short.
