SPLIT NODE TECHNIQUE AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE INVERSION OF FAULT PARAMETERS

The “Split Node Technique” which can be used in the finite element computations were outlined in the paper. The technique is used to deal with the displacement discontinuity between the two elements. The fault parameters can be introduced as fictitious forces on the nodes adjacent to the split node by using this technique. 1 012 stress orientation observations and two epochs of Chinese A order GPS baseline results were occupied to inverse the parameters of fault movements of three principal fault over the areas of Chinese region and its vicinity.
