Enhancement of Growth and Disease Resistance in Eriocheri sinensis by Oral Administration of High Activity Yeast Cell

Eriocheri sinensis were fed with feed supplemented with high activity yeast cell,whose feeding dose of yeast cell was of ratio 0mg/(kg·d),600mg/(kg·d),800 mg/(kg·d),1000mg/(kg·d),1200mg/(kg·d) and 1400mg/(kg·d),respective- ly.40 days later,in order to find out the influence of the activity yeast cell on the growth rate and disease-resistance of the Eriocheri sinensis,the weight of the Eriocheri sinensis were monitored and the experimental subject were challenged with the histoplasmin of diseased Eriocheri sinensis.The results showed that there was significantly higher growth rate than the control group(t-test,P0. 05)and little change in the color and form of internal organs in Eriocheri sinensis when the feed were supplemented with ac- tivity yeast cell at the ratio of 600 mg/(kg·d) to 1400 mg/(kg·d).Meanwhile,the disease-resistance of the experimental Eriocheri sinensis were highly boosted.Comparing with the control group,the disease-resistance of the orally-challenged group and the in- jection-challenged group were boosted by 28.0% and 77.2% respectively.There were no significant differences in the survival rate of each experimental group.
