Logging Interpretation for Water Flooded Zone in Super-heavy Oil Reservoir of Henan Biyang Depression

In Henan oilfield, the heavy oil reservoir has shallow depth, high viscosity, and unconsolidated formation with high porosity, high permeability and high oil saturation. There are a large amount of sands produced during steam stimulation. The characteristics of core and electrical properties of water flooded zones have changed visibly. So, based upon the study on the relationship between the cores and logging curves, a set of fast and intuitive techniques has been set up to interpret the water flooded zone qualitatively and quantitatively, which includes identifying the water flooded zone by using plot of the sonic transit time and the lateral logging data and the technology of artificial neural networks; and measuring the flooding degree according to C/O curves. The log application in 39 wells of Henan heavy oil field confirms that the coincidence rate of the water flooded zone interpretation reaches 89 7 percent.
