Formation Lithology Interpretation of LWD Based on Grey Relation

Formation lithology interpretation of logging while drilling(LWD) is an important problem in geosteering of horizontal well drilling.Introduced is a practical method for real-time recognizing lithology of formation near drill bit in LWD based on grey relation.With the view angle of log-facies geological analysis,the method extracts some characteristic lithology parameters from information while drilling to construct a lithology statistical mode while drilling,and uses grey relation analysis to process the information while drilling to recognize lithology of formation near drill bit.The method timely provided relatively accurate lithology profile in geosteering well drilling of 2 horizontal wells in an oilfield,in which the ability of target tracking in horizontal well drilling was improved.
